As a student I am always reading and get very excited when I come across new books that are very good.
Sensory Stories for Children and Teens with Special Educational Needs by Joanna Grace – A Practical Guide is an excellent book that is easy to read and very informative. Joanna’s passion for sensory stories sets the tone and she uses theory to back up her practical approaches. I feel any one working with people with PMLD would benefit from reading this book especially those in an education setting.
Curricula for Teaching Children and Young People with Severe and Multiple Learning Difficulties – Practical Strategies for educational professionals by Peter Imray and Viv Hinchcliffe is another excellent book. This is an easy read book with lots of practical ideas and resources to encourage professionals to develop ways to maximise educational opportunities for people with PMLD. In my opinion another must have book.
